During the years leading up to the year 2000, most organizations have invested in the latest networking technologies with a focus on becoming Y2K Compliant. Due to the deadline and an industry-wide shortage of experienced technical professionals, some of these organizations have not had the time to ensure optimal architecture and design for their networks, resulting in high operating costs or unsatisfactory service levels. At the same time, organizations are developing or deploying next generation applications such as web-enabled, dot net or web services that require planning on end-to-end performance. Spending more money today on even newer or faster networking equipment may or may not be the most effective answer. We help our clients review their networks and revise the design and implement the networks optimally, without necessarily spending a lot of money on even more equipment.
Historically, Microsoft server solutions e.g. NT, Exchange, SQL are designed to be simple solutions that are installable right-out-of-the-box with minimal changes to default settings, sometimes without much time for analysis and planning, due to the pressures of day-to-day operations. Some of these server environments have grown to a much larger scale than they were originally intended and as a result the total costs of ownership are getting out of hand. We work with our clients to review, re-design and migrate their Microsoft network environment for manageability and scalability, taking into account the three (3) disciplines above.
